法律监督网重庆市人民检察院主办 Description: 1997年3月，第八届全国人民代表大会第五次会议批准设立重庆直辖市，辖原四川省重庆市、万县市、涪陵市、黔江地区，体制调整后，全市有40个区、县（民族自治县、市），地域面积8.24万平方公里，人口3.59千万。同年6月19日，重庆市人民检察院挂牌成立，现下辖5个分院、40个区县（自治县、市）检察院。
直辖以来，重庆市检察院建立健全了直辖市检察机构，形成了有重庆特色的管理模式，充分履行宪法和法律赋予的神圣职责，积极查办贪污、贿赂、渎职等职务犯罪，严厉打击刑事犯罪，大力开展诉讼监督，各项工作稳步推进，有力地维护了社会政治稳定，为重庆市的经济发展和社会进步作出了新的贡献。
直辖十几年来，重庆市检察机关坚持“素质兴检”，开展教育整顿，加强教育培训，深化检察改革，加强队伍建设，塑造了一支新时期高素质的检察队伍。...
